Temporary Dumpster Rental

If you are doing a major cleaning job at home and have a lot of garbage to dispose of, you can do one of the following:

1. You can place extra garbage in 33-gallon bags on top of your green City container.  Each extra bag requires a garbage sticker.
2. Take your garbage /items to the Bremer County Landfill (319-352-4574).

3. Rent a 2 cubic yard dumpster for garbage/junk:
   • size:  50"h x 48"l x 65"w
   • $90 - 1st full dumpster
   • $65 - Each full dumpster thereafter
   • Rental time - limit of 30 days.
   • Dumpster can be emptied every day, if needed (excluding weekends).
     
     EXAMPLE: If you fill a 2 cubic yard dumpster only one time, your total charge will be $90. If you fill a 2 cubic yard dumpster a total of two times, your total charge will be $155.
      
4. Rent a 2 cubic yard dumpster for shingles:
   • size:  50"h x 48"l x 65"w
   • $250 - 1st full dumpster
   • $225 - Each full dumpster thereafter
   • Rental time - limit of 30 days.
   • Dumpster can be emptied every day, if needed (excluding weekends)
     
     EXAMPLE: If you fill a 2 cubic yard dumpster with shingles one time, your total charge will be $250. If you fill a 2 cubic yard dumpster with shingles a total of two times, your total charge will be $475.
      
5. Rent a 4 cubic yard dumpster for garbage/junk:
   • size:  50"h x 94"l x 65"w
   • $130 - 1st full dumpster
   • $105 - Each full dumpster thereafter
   • Rental time - limit of 30 days.
   • Dumpster can be emptied every day, if needed (excluding weekends).
     
     EXAMPLE: If you fill a 4 cubic yard dumpster only one time, your total charge will be $130. If you fill a 4 cubic yard dumpster a total of two times, your total charge will be $235.

Items that cannot be placed in dumpster:

• Yard Waste - grass, leaves, branches
• Tires*
• Appliances* - water heater, stove, washer, dryer, humidifier, dehumidifier, gas grill, TV, microwave, freezer, refrigerator, air conditioner, computer
• Furniture* - mattress, box springs, sofa, stuffed chair, table, dresser, etc.
• Hazardous Waste - flammable liquids & solids, poisons, pesticides, garden chemicals, fertilizers, household cleaners & chemicals, batteries, waste oil, anti-freeze, oil-based paints. These can be taken to the Hazardous Waste site at the Bremer County Landfill.
• Concrete/Bricks
• Construction Materials
• Bulky Items that are too large to go through the garbage truck's compactor - please call if you have questions about specific items
