The Fire department enjoys an ongoing social, intercultural relationship and correspondence with Waverly's sister city, Eisenach, Germany. Occasional trips to Germany by members of the department have included visits to the Eisenach, Gotha, and Marburg fire stations, as well as the Thuringa State Fire School.
