Sign Permit Application

General Information

Some Commonly Applied Provisions from the Code (Section 100.26):

  • Business signage on the facade of buildings is limited to 25% of the wall surface area.
  • Sight triangles must be observed to promote safety so motorists do not need to look around and above signage at intersections (See Sign Ordinance).
  • All private off-premise signs, including but not limited to garage sale signs and political signage shall not be located within the Right-of-ways of Local or State roadways (the area between the sidewalk and curb is within the right-of-way).  These signs do not require a permit.

The sign ordinance can be found in the Zoning Code, Section 100.26
