2023 Spring Tree Planting
On May 3, 2023 Waverly Trees Forever volunteers gathered with students from W-SR Middle School and planted 54 trees throughout the community. This project was made possible through grants from Iowa DNR Community Forestry and MidAmerican Energy’s Trees Please programs. Before planting, the students learned the positive environmental impacts and overall importance of trees, as well as how to properly plant a tree.
On May 19, 2023 W-SR Middle Schoolers once again joined forces with city staff and planted 20 trees for Phase 2 of the Swing for the Trees Campaign.
