Monthly Events

Spice Club (pick up on the fourth Friday of each month)

The WPL Spice Club is a monthly “take-and-make” kit that will introduce us to a variety of unique spices. Included in each kit will be a page of recipes, information on the history of the spice and fun facts, and a small packet of spice (enough to make one or two of the recommended recipes). Spice kits will be available on the fourth Friday of each month. They can be picked up in the library building during regular hours. Kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mysteries 'Я' Us Book Club: 2nd Sunday of the month at 1:30 PM (September - May)

​Each month a new mystery author is selected and participants can read any book they've written. The Friends of the Waverly Public Library sponsors this delight for book and mystery lovers. Free and open to all.

DIY Nights: 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM (September - May)

​Each month, participants come to the library to learn a different craft, from book page wreaths to needle felting. Registration opens on the 1st of each month for each class. Participation is limited. Call the library for the craft schedule and more information.

Trivia Nights at the Bremer Brewing Company: 2nd Thursday (General Knowledge) and 4th Thursday (Special Theme) of the month at 7 PM

​General knowledge questions cover a variety of categories, such as Sports & Leisure, Geography, Entertainment, Logos, Food & Drink, and more! Special themes vary from month to month; check the website calendar for the most up-to-date information. Come with a team or join one when you arrive.

Read 'til YA Drop Bookclub: 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM

​This is a book club for adults (18 and over) who read Young Adult fiction from various genres, including realistic fiction, fantasy, dystopian, and more. The library will provide the book to read ahead of time. If you’re interested in joining the club please contact the library.

Overbooked Book Club: Online Book Club

Do you love reading, talking about, and sharing good books? Would you love to join a book club, but you just don’t know where you’ll find the time to attend yet another meeting? The Waverly Public Library’s Overbooked Book Club is for you! Pick up a copy of the current month’s book selection next time you stop by the library and enjoy online discussions about fabulous books from the comfort of your home. Discussion questions will be posted to the group page the first week of each month. Non-Fiction Book Club: 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM

This group reads a different non-fiction selection each month. Topics vary widely. Whether you have never read a non-fiction book or it's all you read, you are encouraged to join us and try it out!
