Ambassador Visits - November 2016

posted in Chamber of Commerce on December 21, 2016

In November, the Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors visited three area businesses for their contributions and achievements in the Waverly community.

Midwest Dental, located at 1400 10th Ave SW in Waverly, was presented the Progress Award from the Ambassadors for their addition of Dr. Bryan Horak to their team. Horak received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. "I am excited about my move to Waverly and for the opportunity to work with a new community. I am eager to take the next step to continue utilizing my knowledge and abilities to provide top level care and compassion for my patients," said Horak. Midwest Dental offers a variety of dental services including preventative care, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, restorative, and periodontal care.

The Ambassadors presented Crystol Harms, Hannah Leavens, and Amanda McCormick, with a Dollar Award in congratulations for the opening of their store, The Pink Daisy Boutique, located at 122 East Bremer in downtown Waverly. The opening of The Pink Daisy Boutique has as allowed this mother-daughter trio to be able to work together, which is something they have always wanted to do. Officially opening their doors in September, the store has already expanded into the second room of their retail space. The Pink Daisy Boutique carries stylish women’s clothing for all ages and gets new merchandise multiple times a week.

Sherri and Jeremy Buhr, owners of The Refinery, were also presented the Dollar Award from the Ambassadors in congratulations of the opening of their store. The Refinery is located at 213 E Bremer Ave in downtown Waverly. The opening of The Refinery has been a lifelong dream for Sherri, and has allowed the couple to highlight many of their talents. The Refinery combines a full-service solon, custom made furniture, “upcycled” items, and women’s date-night apparel. While shopping, you will find that almost all items and product lines are locally or American made. This ambiance is the exact approach the couple strives to create.

The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Program serves as a public relations arm of the Waverly Chamber by welcoming new businesses, recognizing business expansion efforts, recruiting new members to the Waverly Chamber, and by serving as a representative of the Chamber throughout the community.
