Request for Proposal for the Purchase and Development of City-Owned Real Estate

posted in Community Development on June 17, 2026

The City of Waverly invites developers and interested parties to submit proposals to purchase and develop a triangular parcel, approximately 1.6 acres, located between 6th Street SW, 2nd Avenue SW, and the Dry Run Creek.

The site was formerly occupied by Washington Irving Elementary School, which was substantially damaged during the 2008 flood (Parcel ID # 0903283003).  The structure was removed and site cleared in 2010, and the City acquired the parcel from the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District in 2014.
