Do you have a story you've been waiting for an excuse to tell?

Flex your creative writing skills by writing a short story for WPL's Teen Short Story Contest! By entering, you'll have a chance to win a $50 gift card to the Nook in Cedar Falls!

Stories should be no more than 500 words. Authors are free to write whatever kind of story calls to them -- it could be funny, it could be adventurous, or it could be though-provoking. Stories should not have been previously written, and any stories using AI or AI assistance will be immediately disqualified.

Submissions must be sent to Trevor (tkrug@waverly.lib.ia.us) by no later than January 31st at 4:00PM and should be sent in PDF format. The winner will be announced on February 6th. Open to teens and tweens in grades 5-12 or their equivalent.

Happy writing!
