Waverly Dollars Reminder

posted in Chamber of Commerce on February 9, 2018

The Waverly Chamber of Commerce would like to remind Waverly shoppers and businesses about Waverly Dollars.

The way Waverly Dollars works is that a customer comes to the Chamber and purchases Waverly Dollars, and they, or someone else, would turn around and spend those dollars in Waverly. Waverly Dollars are checks that spend like cash and are redeemable at any Waverly business. With that concept in mind, Waverly Dollars is meant to be a positive initiative to increase the focus of spending local.

For business purposes, all Waverly businesses (Chamber members or otherwise) are encouraged to accept Waverly Dollars. If a business is worried about that check bouncing, there is no need to worry, as it comes through an account within the Chamber of Commerce. When someone presents a business with Waverly Dollars, they are simply choosing to shop at your store and eat at your restaurant, instead of going out of town to an alternative. Keep in mind that Waverly Dollars act like cash, so it is standard practice to give back change, if necessary.

Waverly Dollars are available for purchase during normal business hours at the Chamber office (118 East Bremer), Monday-Friday, 9-4:30 p.m. Waverly Dollars are available in increments of $10 and $25.

For further questions or comments, please contact the Chamber office by phone at (319) 352-4526 or by email at waverly@waverlychamber.com.
