Waverly Area Workplace Exploration
Equipping Educators to Prepare Students for Our Future Workforce
An Opportunity for Area Employers
May 29 and June 1, 2015

The Waverly Area Education Roundtable, in partnership with the Waverly Chamber and W-SR Schools, is once again sponsoring a Workplace Exploration event for W-SR educators.  Last year’s event met with rave reviews from both employers and educators who participated.  The Workplace Exploration event brings educators together with employers in our area to tour the organization’s facilities and speak with representatives about work-readiness skills, employer expectations, and future career opportunities.  The goal is to help our local educators (at middle school and high school level) become better informed about how to advise and prepare students for future career paths.  This experience also helps educators establish a network of resources that can support them in their teaching and guidance of the students who will become our future workforce.

This program is open to employers from all sectors including manufacturing, finance, health and human services, agriculture, retail, and others.  This year’s event will take place on Friday, May 29, and Monday, June 1.  We are seeking employers willing to host a small group (10 to 12) of educators at your site in a session that runs one hour, forty minutes; employers can select one or more session times scheduled over the two-day period.  The event will end with an informal dinner and debriefing session (location TBD) at 5 pm on Monday, June 1.

If you are interested in participating as a host employer we ask that you visit the web site below to complete a brief “expression of interest” form; additional details about the program will be provided following your completion of this form:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/workexpl2015.
