September Ambassador Visits

Waverly, IA – In September, the Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors presented three businesses with Progress Awards.

Monica Severson has been a part of the Waverly community since 1988, and she has been a Financial Professional with Thrivent Financial since 2016. Before joining Thrivent Financial, Severson worked at Wartburg College for 28 years.   Thrivent Financial is much more than a financial services organization.  As an organization of Christians, money is viewed not as a goal but as a tool to strengthen your family, your church and your community.  “We call it the Thrivent Way and we help our members reach their financial goals,” said Severson.  Severson offers full financial services including life insurance, mutual funds, traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs, fixed and variable annuities, retirement planning, college planning,  and long term care insurance.  “I will work to understand your situation and create a financial strategy that reflects your goals and values,” continued Severson.

In August, real estate company Signature Realty, LC became partners with RE/MAX Home Group bringing two great teams together here in Waverly. The RE/MAX Home Group team has brought a new range of resources that help service clients further in a professional way. Pairing up with a dynamic team of powerhouse realtors has given Waverly real estate a whole new edge and an amazing brand. The four Broker/Owners of RE/MAX Home Group Signature Realty, Karen Kayser, Deanna Wheeler, Rick Bauer, and Margaret Kenealy, welcomed the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors as they presented the Progress Award to the entire team and congratulated them on the new business success. Margaret Kenealy, Broker/Owner of Signature Realty,LC and now part Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Home Group Signature Realty, tells of her vision for the company, "I really wanted to progress and give the realtors here a future with a business that can provide them with a host of resources to help them excel, while providing a wide range of resources and tools to help service our clients. And we have found that with RE/MAX Home Group."

RE/MAX Home Group Signature Realty has a team of 6 skilled realtors: Eileen Hemer, Larry Skinner, Nicole Miller, Rebecca Smith, Romeo Djoumessi, and Julie Lindaman. Each agent has vast experience in the real estate field and specialized knowledge to help buyers and sellers take their next step in their real estate journey.

Tony Fuhrmeister has been the store director at the Waverly Hy-Vee since January of 2018.  Fuhrmeister has been with Hy-Vee for over 30 years, most recently as the store director at the Davenport Hy-Vee in the Quad Cities. In October, Fuhrmeister will receive his 25 year Full Time service award in Des Moines. Furhmeister is married to Laura and they have three children.  Rebecca is a junior at the University of Iowa studying Biology and Chemistry.  Jacob is a freshman at Iowa where he plans to major in mechanical engineering.  Luke is a sophomore here at Waverly Shell-Rock High School.  The Fuhrmeister family got settled into the community in August after selling their home in Bettendorf and they look forward to getting to know more of the community and to become more active members.

The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Program serves as a public relations arm of the Waverly Chamber by welcoming new businesses, recognizing business expansion efforts, recruiting new members to the Waverly Chamber and by serving as a representative of the Chamber throughout the community.
