Chamber Awards 2018 Facade Improvement Grants

posted in Chamber of Commerce on February 4, 2019

The Waverly Chamber of Commerce recently awarded three Façade Improvement Grants for 2018 to Sasquatch Jacks, Rack ‘Em Up Promotions & Love and Lace.

Administered by the Chamber’s Design and Beautification Committee, the primary objective of the Façade Improvement Grant Program is to revitalize properties in Waverly by preserving and restoring existing buildings and storefronts. The grant provides technical assistance along with a grant to building owners.

“The façade grant program provides valuable assistance to our member businesses and property owners,” stated Paula Stevenson, chair of the committee.

Sasquatch Jacks, located at 118 10th St. SW, completed updates to their facade including custom signage, lighting and a painted mural on the front of their building. Rack ‘Em Up Promotions, located at 107 East Bremer Ave., recently completed a rear entrance façade project including a new awning, new door and stairs leading up to the back of their business.

Both businesses have done exceptional work enhancing the appearance of their buildings and are great assets to the community. Our final recipient, Love and Lace, will complete their project in July, so we look forward to seeing their updates in the months to come.

Façade Grants through the Waverly Chamber are awarded annually to businesses who apply for matching funding to preserve and restore existing buildings and storefronts.
