Waverly Chamber Ambassadors Recognize Area Businesses

Waverly, IA – The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently held ribbon cuttings for two businesses in Waverly, presenting one with a Progress Award and one with a First Dollar Award.

The Ambassadors presented Jodi Geerts, CEO of the Waverly Health Center at 312 9th St SW with a Progress Award to celebrate the completion of renovations and to recognize their new chief nursing officer Kelly Hilsenbeck, chief clinic officer Nicole Myers, community relations and foundation director Lindy Ibeling and chief outpatient services officer Joni Poppe. A ribbon cutting was also held to celebrate the opening of a new pediatric therapy unit. This renovation included remodeling as well as the construction of a new emergency department. Renovations renewed 44,000 square feet of existing space including Pharmacy, Cardiac Rehab, Administration, and more. With the opening of the new pediatric therapy unit, pediatric patients are now able to receive care in a private space specifically designed to meet their needs. Waverly Health Center is also celebrating being named one of the Best-In-State hospitals by Newsweek and Statista. The health center is one of 13 Iowa hospitals recognized in 2024. The Ambassadors presented Jon and Becca Elsamiller, owners of Elsamiller Electric Co. with a First Dollar Award and a ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of their new location at 101 39th St NE. Elsamiller Electric offers agricultural, solar, commercial and residential electrician services to Waverly and surrounding communities. For more information, please visit their website.
