Waverly, IA-In September, the Waverly Chamber of Commerce visited four businesses in downtown Waverly to present two Progress Awards and two First Dollar Awards.
Bella Nails & Boutique received a Progress Award for their recent achievements in hiring a new team member and being named to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier Best of the Best 2017. Bella Nails & Boutique won first place in the nail salon category. At Bella Nails & Boutique, customer satisfaction and sanitation is their top priority. Bella Nails & Boutique would like to welcome Branigan Bunce to their team. She graduated from Capri College in July of 2016 with a license in cosmetology. She has found a passion in doing nails and offers manicures, shellac manicures, pedicures and waxing. For the recent opening of their new store, Todd and Emily Briddle and the Butcher Block By: Oran Locker were presented a First Dollar Award. The Butcher Block By: Oran Locker offers specialty-smoked meats, beef and pork products, seasonings, casings, candy, candles, coffee and more! A recent addition to their tremendous selection available at the Butcher Block By: Oran Locker is dairy products from Hansen’s Dairy, which includes milk, butter, cheese curds and ice cream. The Ambassadors also presented Poshly Picked Boutique with a First Dollar Award for the recent opening of their store. Poshly Picked Boutique offers a variety of gently-used premium women’s clothing, accessories, handbags and shoes, as well as home décor, artwork and hand-crafted décor from local artists. Owner Mikala Wilson is excited to have her business in Waverly. “I am extremely proud to have a store and concept that offers a great selection of high-end quality items, yet affordable prices,” Wilson said. “I’m also ecstatic to be a part of Waverly’s retail growth, which is putting us on the map, as a whole.” Poshly Picked Boutique’s store hours are Tuesday-10:00 AM-4:30 PM, Thursday-10:00 AM-9:00 PM (Ladies Night), Friday-10:00 AM-4:30 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.
Receiving a Progress Award for their recent hiring of two new employees was the Waverly Chamber of Commerce. Bethany Nelson, a 2016 University of Iowa graduate, joined their team in February 2017 as their Administrative Assistant. Riley Cole, a 2017 graduate of Wartburg College, joined their staff in June 2017 as their Communications & Marketing Assistant. Bethany and Riley look forward to networking with business professionals in Waverly and assisting in serving Chamber members. Through the coordinated activities of the organization’s committees, the Waverly Chamber of Commerce fosters a healthy environment for economic development and tourism while working to increase Waverly’s overall quality of life.
