Ambassador Visits - October 2018

Waverly, IA – In October, the Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors presented two businesses with First Dollar Awards and one business with a Progress Award.

Katalyst Yoga and Boutique is a yoga studio located downtown that focuses on the full yoga experience.  Specializing in both heated and non-heated classes, with a yoga flow for everyone, practitioners are sure to find what they need.  Both beginners and seasoned practitioners are all welcome.  All teachers are certified and are ready to make your yoga session specialized directly to you.  Offering both classes and private lessons, stop by today for a chance to find you!

The front end of the studio is also used for boutique items aiming towards holistic healing, as well as everyday use.  Goods include sage bundles, t-shirts, crystals, greeting cards, etc.  “Living life to the fullest and being mindful in your everyday life is exactly the aim of Katalyst Yoga and Boutique,” said owner and teacher, Jessica Kettleson.  “We hope to see you soon!”

Clothesline, owned by Mardelle Mehmen, is a mother/daughter duo boutique that recently opened in downtown Waverly. Mehmen’s daughter, Jessica Van Auken, manages the store and is in charge of sales and advertising. The boutique strives to offer affordable fashion for little girls to older women.  They carry little girls clothing starting at size 2t up to size 14, and woman’s clothing size small through extra-large.  Accessories, such as shoes and purses, are also popular items in the store. “We may be small but we pack in a lot of style,” said Van Auken.

Next Generation Wireless, local U.S. Cellular Authorized Agent, started in 2001 with two retail locations in Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids. Since then, they’ve expanded to 11 locations throughout Iowa and Illinois – including Waverly.  Their associates’ knowledge, passion, and commitment help to provide the best experience possible and create long-term customer loyalty.  NGW takes pride in offering both their customers and associates the support and service they’ve grown to expect.

The Waverly store recently relocated to a new building just a few doors down from their previous location. An opportunity was envisioned to increase the square footage of the store and be their own landlord.  More options and support are available with the added space. “We want to thank Waverly and the surrounding communities for all your continued support and patronage,” said Emilee Nedoba, Marketing Coordinator.  Nedoba continued, “We look forward to assisting you with all your wireless needs today and in the future!”

The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Program serves as a public relations arm of the Waverly Chamber by welcoming new businesses, recognizing business expansion efforts, recruiting new members to the Waverly Chamber and by serving as a representative of the Chamber throughout the community.
