Ambassador Visits - June 2022

posted in Chamber of Commerce on July 8, 2022

Waverly, IA – The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently presented three local businesses with Progress Awards. They also participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for one of the businesses and held a ribbon cutting for a business that is under new ownership.

The Ambassadors participated in a groundbreaking ceremony with Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community for their new 55-plus Anna Estates Development. Anna Estates is a connective housing development being put in on the northeast corner of Knights Avenue. Phase One of these projects will be 7 individual homes which will back up to the existing neighborhoods. This phase will also include 20 duplexes for 47 total units. There is the possibility of phases 2 and 3 in the future. This development will provide additional housing options to seniors. The design of the units will help individuals age in place, the way they want to, safely. The current 55-plus active living community of Eisenach Village has been completed and all of the homes are sold. Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community has been serving Waverly and the surrounding area for over 60 years. Visit www.bartelscommunity.org for more information.

The Ambassadors presented Fareway with a Progress Award to welcome new Meat Department manager, Brian Dirksen to the Waverly store. Brian has been working for Fareway for nearly 25 years, most recently as the Meat Department manager in Clive. Brian met his wife, Megan, while they were both working at the New Hampton Fareway. Originally from Ionia, they were excited about the opportunity to move back closer to family. Brian & Megan have a son who will be a freshman at UNI in the fall and a daughter who will be in 8th grade at the W-SR Middle School. Fareway strives to provide the highest quality grocery items at affordable prices with second-to-none customer service. Follow them on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/FarewayWaverly561/.
