A statement from our 2019 Board Chair, Phil Jones

posted in Chamber of Commerce on June 10, 2019

On behalf of our 285 members and investors Executive Director, Travis Toliver and I attended the June 3, 2019 City Council meeting where the City shared the latest update on the Bremer Avenue project. The Iowa DOT will adjust the traffic signal timing along Bremer Avenue in the next two weeks to improve the flow of east/west traffic. The City is also anticipating the reopening of the Adams Parkway bridge by the end of June 2019, and the opening of the Cedar River Parkway in August 2019. Taken together, the Iowa DOT anticipates improvement to the flow of traffic and is committed to monitoring traffic flows and adjusting as needed.

Knowing this information, we are asking our members and the general public to continue supporting our downtown merchants and service providers. They are here for all of us and so we are asking everyone to do what they can to support them. Keep watching the Chamber’s Facebook page for features on our small business members over the next two months and thank YOU for supporting Waverly.
