Waverly, IA – The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently visited three area businesses, including two new businesses.

The Ambassadors joined Scooter’s Coffee at their Grand Opening in February for a ribbon cutting. Scooter’s Coffee, the Midwest-based coffee franchise that has experienced tremendous growth over the past year, recently opened a drive-thru location in Wavelry at 210 West Bremer Avenue – in the Fareway parking lot. Scooter’s Coffee serves coffee, smoothies, tea, blenders, iced drinks, pastries and more. In addition, the brand offers a mobile app. The app allows customers to quickly pay for purchases by scanning a barcode linked to a registered Scooter’s Coffee gift card.

“We are very excited to be a part of the Waverly community,” stated Mike Rogers, Chief Operating Officer of Scooter’s Coffee. “We look forward to bringing our specialty coffee, real-fruit smoothies and baked-from-scratch pastries to the residents of Waverly.”

Northern Iowa Therapy (NIT) was presented with a Progress Award from the Ambassadors for the recent addition of new physical therapist, Ally Moen. A native of Dyersville, Iowa, and a graduate of Clark University, Moen comes to NIT from Novacare Rehabilitation in Minneapolis.

NIT clinics provide Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services to adults and children throughout Iowa. They operate their own outpatient and specialty clinics, and serve in hospitals, nursing facilities, home health, industries, schools and day care centers.

The Mixing Bowl was presented with a First Dollar Award for the opening of the new bakery in Waverly. East Bremer Diner owners, Matt & Adrienne Lamos, along with Terri Meister, EBD employee, officially opened the new bakery in January. The Mixing Bowl offers an assortment of home-baked favorites made from scratch, including donuts, cinnamon rolls and Meister’s specialty – Terri’s Pies.

The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Program serves as a public relations arm of the Waverly Chamber by welcoming new businesses, recognizing business expansion efforts, recruiting new members to the Waverly Chamber and by serving as a representative of the Chamber throughout the community.
