Ambassador Visits - May 2019

Waverly, IA – The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently presented three local businesses with Progress Awards.

The Ambassadors presented a Progress Award to Pastor Ben Dau of Embassy Vineyard Church to recognize the church’s recent exterior remodel.  Embassy Vineyard Church, located on the corner of Bremer Ave. and 4th St. SW, has recently changed their name and renovated their facade in order to give it a completely new look. When asked about their new name and look, Pastor Ben explained, “We like defining an ‘Embassy’ as 'Sovereign territory in a foreign land.' When people walk through our doors, we want them to feel a difference in how they are treated. Our facade renovation was part of this new look and feel. Our previous exterior didn’t accurately reflect our congregation and wasn’t particularly welcoming. Changing our facade has made for a much better, and more accurate, impression of who we really are.”

The Ambassadors also held a ribbon cutting to welcome the new Casey’s General Store to Waverly. The new store is located at 1032 4th St. SW and opened in late April. This Casey’s offers several amenities in addition to fuel, including diesel, soft serve ice cream, sub sandwiches, pizza, bakery and online ordering. They also offer a wide variety of name brand food and drinks to satisfy every craving. Located behind the convenience store will be a car wash that is set to open later this summer.

Lastly, the Ambassadors visited Yogi Life Yoga & Cycling Studio to present them with a First Dollar Award. Yogi Life is located in the Waverly Medical Park off of Cedar River Parkway. It is Cedar Valley's ONLY yoga and indoor cycling studio! Offering a variety of heated & non-heated yoga classes and cycling rides for all levels, Yogi Life believes students need a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment to enhance their physical and spiritual practices. YLYCS promotes the health benefits of routine yoga and cycling to a person’s physical and mental well-being.
