In March the Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors visited three businesses in our community.
The Ambassadors welcomed a new dance studio, Express Dance & Fitness, located in the old Junior High building at 215 3rd. St. NW. Owned and operated by Waverly native Hannah Tucker, the studio offers five levels of dance classes for kids ages 3-18 which encompass ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical to name a few. On the fitness side, they offer a kids-only class called Motiv8 Hip Hop Fit for ages 10-18, and a fun, dance fitness class called Fly Girl Fitness for women 18 and up. They specialize in no judgment and tons of fun! Ms. Hannah has been dancing since she was three, and is thrilled to be able to share her dream with the Waverly community.
The Fainting Goat, located at 118 10th St. SW has a new owner and chef, Phillip Winkler. Winkler bought the iconic Waverly bar and grill in February 2016 and is already making it his own, from building updates to a completely new menu. Winkler is first and foremost a Chef. He has traveled and cooked in countries throughout the world and has had the honor of working with several famous chefs from popular TV shows like Hells Kitchen, Expanding Palates and more. He is a proud member of the American Culinary Federation and is currently working on his Executive Chef Certification. Winkler takes pride in each dish, cooking only with the freshest Iowan ingredients. Enjoy their new menu 7 days a week and keep a look out for breakfast starting soon!
The Ambassadors visited Bella Nails & Boutique, located at 103 E. Bremer Ave., to celebrate their store remodel and their expanding staff. In February they hired their fourth nail technician, Arika Rinnels, and also upgraded all of their massage pedicure chairs, ensuring their clients have a more comfortable and relaxing experience. They also added a new hair station, so clients can now get their hair done or even get a facial.
