In April the Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors visited three businesses in our community.
The Waverly Chamber Ambassadors presented Photography By Christine a Progress Award in celebration of their new location at 97 E. Bremer Ave. This Main Street business began in 2008 from the rural Clarksville home of owner, Christine Shea Robbins. In 2010 she leased her first retail space in downtown Waverly and as progress in the downtown district brought new adventures, she moved her Studio to its current location in the beautiful historic storefront known as part of "the Big 6". With 3 photographers on staff, Photography by Christine is a full service professional portrait studio specializing in newborn, children, and high school senior photography. The Larrabee Center, Inc., located at 117 11th St. NW, recently hired Christina Flammang as their Development & Community Relations Coordinator. Flammang will manage the agency’s grant writing, fundraising plans and endowments, as well as organize special events. “I strive to create and enhance ways that charitable giving and philanthropy become more than a donation, but cultivates into a bond in which the donor’s compassion results into a growing relationship and partnership.” says Flammang. The Larrabee Center is a private, non-profit human service agency dedicated to assisting persons with disabilities and the elderly to become and remain valued members of the community. They also own and operate Trinkets & Togs Thrift Stores in Waverly and Grundy Center.
The Ambassadors presented Century 21 LSB Real Estate with a Progress Award in honor of their new location at 2022 3rd Ave. NW. Mike Sheehan & Associates started the business 43 years ago and in 2004 Lincoln Savings Bank acquired it, making it LSB Real Estate. In 2006, LSB purchased Century 21 Golden Cities Franchise thus giving the business its current name, Century 21 LSB Real Estate. Currently the Waverly office has 11 agents and is a real estate staple in Waverly. They will host a Grand Opening celebration showcasing their new facility on Thursday, May 12th from 4-7 pm. The entire community is invited to come and enjoy great food, meet their agents, and visit their new location.
The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Program serves as a public relations arm of the Waverly Chamber by welcoming new businesses, recognizing business expansion efforts, recruiting new members to the Waverly Chamber, and by serving as a representative of the Chamber throughout the community.
