The Waverly Area Economic Development Commission has released its latest Housing Study. The study was prepared after public forums with builders, developers, realtors and other key stake holders. Waverly saw new home sales grow in 2012 and the study is helping forecast what housing needs may be immediately and in the near future. View Report

BREMER COUNTY IS LEADING EASTERN IOWA IN LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT...AGAIN

Did you know that Iowa currently has 491,842 students, 1,468 schools and 371 school districts? Out of those 371 school districts Waverly-Shell Rock is ranked second. Rank was determined by factors such as: State Test Scores (No Child Left Behind Tests), School Enrollment by group, Iowa Educational Environment and Educational Expenditures. The economic indicators for Bremer County again show several positive signs. The biggest increase was in home sales as they were up more than 24%.
